Emma-Jane Sowerby

Emma-Jane is a natural Surface Designer and Freelance Illustrator. A very British designer born and raised in Blundellsands with the beach on her door step and a holiday home in the Welsh coast & countryside, her childhood upbringing & love of all things natural are to thank for her inspirations today. Now living in West London with her partner and their Wirehair Fox Terrier, Emma-Jane escapes to the coast at every given chance. 

Emma-Jane had early success after graduating from Leeds College of Art in 2012, when one of her wallpapers won an award in the Wallpaper History Competition for it's strong detail and subject matter. Her winning wallpaper was then exhibited in one of the rooms in the House of Lords. Since then Emma-Jane has freelanced for some of Britain's largest companies designing for Kitchen & Dine, Wallpaper & Fabrics. She has sold & licensed work both in Britain & Internationally, worked with Britain's largest wallpaper company & recently started selling her own fabrics under her name. 

Emma-Jane is extremely passionate about designing natural patterns for the home, her passion lies in hand drawn detailed motifs and illustrative arrangements, she enjoys combing natural textures and mark-making patterns with her delicate and sensitive drawings. Emma-Jane's work portrays her personality and has a very natural and timeless colour palette for the home.
